West Asheville in a Nutshell - Your Neighborhood During PanchakarmaWhen you come to Blue Lotus Ayurveda to receive Panchakarma, you can choose to stay with us during your program, which means that you will be embraced by the nurturing, healing energy of our clinic while having the convenience of quaint West Asheville, which is becoming a popular neighborhood with its many coffee shops, restaurants, parks and churches. Below is a simplified map of businesses around us, to get you acquainted with our neighborhood. Panchakarma is a time to introspect and be with yourself, and rest and relax as much as possible, but we decided to list a few businesses you may want to visit before your program, or at some other point (especially the restaurants!). Staying in West Asheville during your detox program gives you the convenience of a walk in a quaint neighborhood, access to a health food store, a yoga studio, a park, a couple bookstores, and a few places to grab a cup of tea and read a book or magazine, including the West Asheville library.
West Asheville - Who Is Around Blue Lotus Ayurveda1. Fire Station 2. Police Resource Center 3. West Asheville Branch Library: Take a walk to the Library and grab a book or magazine to explore right there. 4. Spellbound Children's Bookshop: In case you have a young loved one back home expecting a present... 5. Digable Pizza: This one is big no no for you while you are doing Panchakarma, but we just wanted you to know it's there for some other time. 6. Haywood Rd. Market (aka West Asheville Coop): A cooperative health food store where you can find fresh veggies and organic products. Especially handy if you are staying with us the weekend or the night before your Panchakarma therapies. 7. West End Bakery & Café: Resist the temptation of their pastries, but feel free to grab a cup of tea and read the newspaper, or bring your favorite book. 8. Pastabilities: Again, this is big no no while doing Panchakarma, but you now know it's here for your next visit to Asheville. 9. The Corner Post - Complete Packing & Shipping Services: In case you need to pack and ship something. 10. Outspoken: Grab a cup of tea and peruse their selection of books. They offer free wireless internet, so you can use your laptop if you really need to, but try to be brief while you are doing Panchakarma. 11. Pineapple Jack's: Another restaurant you need to avoid during Panchakarma, but you can enjoy their wraps, salads, smoothies, and sandwiches some other time. 12. Sunny Point Café: Big no no during Panchakarma, but have breakfast or lunch here when you visit Asheville again. 13. West Asheville Yoga: They sometimes have an open yoga class for you to practice on your own (donation basis). Other than that, please check with us first to make sure the class you are interested in is appropriate for you while doing Panchakarma (vigorous, hot types of yoga are definitely not appropriate). We can provide you with the class schedule for other yoga studios in town. Lighten Up Yoga, in downtown Asheville, offers special discounts to our clients. Ask us for a coupon! West Asheville is a nice place to walk. West Asheville Park is not too far from our Clinic, or you can just stroll down the street. But please, please, please remember to save your energy during Panchakarma for cleansing and rejuvenation! |
